ANAARKALI OF AARAH - You praised Amitabh teaching the meaning of a woman's NO in the court, now praise Swara doing the same in a differently authentic manner. (Review By Bobby Sing).

PHILLAURI - It's a confusingly conceived Punjabi film made in Hindi, based on an interesting but inspired idea with the only merit being its emotional climax. (Review By Bobby Sing).

TRAPPED - Post an unconvincing start, it fairly keeps you engaged as a praise-worthy off-beat attempt featuring an impressive solo act and some notable merits. (Review By Bobby Sing).

This Friday's One Line Reviews by Bobby Sing for making your weekend movie plans..

KONG SKULL ISLAND (English) - Though lacks an emotional pull and the original charm, it's still an incredibly made entertaining comic-book adventure to be experienced in a well-equipped theater. (Review by Bobby Sing).

BADRINATH KI DULHANIA - A unique case of the makers returning with the same lead pair, a similar title, identical looks and the same old premise of a wedding, mocking at the viewers patience & choice. (Review by Bobby Sing).

LION (English/2016) - An emotionally uplifting film which once again depicts INDIA in a bad light and we know the westerners do have a fascination for such dark representation of our country since decades. (Review by Bobby Sing).

ANUPAMA (1967) - Its touching emotional climax and DDLJ - By Bobby Sing.

COMMANDO 2 - Focusing on suspense instead of action, Vidyut gets no support in this poor and so casually conceived film unfortunately. (Review By Bobby Sing).

LOGAN (English/Hindi) - You will make faces, tighten your fists and do several things going through this brutal, cold blooded must watch thriller for sure. (Review by Bobby Sing).

In 2005 Bollywood-wave reached Germany and became a cause of interest in this foreign land. Mohabbatein was the reason, why Claudia Huefner wants to know more about this country, its culture, its people, most captivated by the language.

So she decided to learn Hindi, got new friends and one of them told her about the renowned Hindi poet Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan and his famous work Madhushala. As she started to translate the first stanzas she felt: there was a deep love inside. Within nine month she completed the translation, with the help of Shashvat Doorwar (from Jhansi), who guided her with the most appropriate and correct meaning of words in Madhushala, in english language.

would like to obtain a copy of this, translated in English. Any idea where it is available? This is to understand the poetry better as I am not very fluent in understanding the original in chaste Hindi.

submitted on 29 July 2010

Hi Jayanthi Ramesh,

Thanks for visiting and writing in, but actually these translations are not from any book as such.

These are my own self translations of the valuable poems of Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan and I am glad to know that you liked them a lot.

I really wish to do more work in this direction and would surely post more such translations at my site soon...so Keep Visiting.

Bobby Sirji,

This is an amazing website of yours! I can call it an ultimate stop for movie buffs of my type.

Madhushala is playing in my various music players since 1986, when I was in 6th.

Presently it is ripped from the CD that I own and it is a constant in all my playlists!

Today, I got my nth printed Hindi version. So many have been lost/stolen (mostly)/ loaned/ given with good intention, that I have forgotten the number!

Thanks for the detailed post.

Unable to find Madhushala sung by Amitabh Bachchan. Everywhere that I have looked including the three links posted by you have only the version sung by Manna Dey.

Wonder if Amitabh actually did a whole CD of madhushala?

submitted on 17 October 2011

Hi Sunil,

Actually there is a little confusion here.
The Amitabh CD is a collection of different poems of Sh. Harivansh Rai Bachchan recited by him in a special edition and it is not a Madhushala CD sung by him.

So probably you might be looking for it in a different misleading way.

However to help you out in this, I have sent a mail to your ID seprately. So just check that out.

Hi Bobby,

Your site is really good. Actually i was looking for madhushala sung by great Amitabh Bacchan. Can u help me wid dis...I would appreciate, if u mail me d link to d cd.

 Thanx in advance!!

submitted on 16 September 2012

Dear Namita.
Thanks a lot for your appreciating words about the site and my work here.
Regarding Madhushala, I would like to inform that as mentioned in the article, MADHUSHALA's selected poems are available in a CD sung by Manna Dey. In the other CD stated above Amitabh Bachchan has sung or recited poems of Shri Harivnansh Rai Bachchan which are not from Madhushala book.

However this project is in pipeline to be recorded as reported in the news.

Amitabh sings poems from Madhushala often in program remembering Sh. Harivansh Rai Ji and you can find a worth watching clliping at Youtube while searching for "Amitabh sings Madhushala".
So do watch it and I will let you know whenever there is something new on this too.

Keep Visiting and writing in.
