Chupke Chupke - Bobby Talks Cinema.com

“Chupke Chupke” can be described as the most simple and remarkable comedy with an almost perfect screenplay and star-cast. It has a well written role for every character in the movie, and they all have performed in the most convincing way. It was indeed a first to cast both Dharmendera & Amitabh Bachchan as College Professors with a comic touch. But the director Hrishikesh Mukherjee is the one, known for these kind of image transformations in hindi cinema.

He also did the same experiment successfully with Rajesh Khanna (Bawarchi), Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan (Guddi), Amol Palekar (Golmaal) and many more. No doubt, that was the reason why actors used to beg him for even small roles in his films. The most prominent names in the industry were ready to work for him free of cost only to satisfy their creative urges and to associate themselves with his films.

An interesting fact about this film is that the roles of Amitabh Bachhan & Jaya Bhaduri were written later when they both insisted to work in the film. And what an addition it was which completely lifted the film to even greater heights. The use of pure Hindi by Dharmendera and his scenes with Om Prakash are the best of the lot. Parmal Tripathi & Botany were the key names which became immensely popular at that time and are still used in comedy sequences by many. In short, this is one of the 5 best comedies of Hindi Film Industry not to be missed at any cost.

Directed By Hrishikesh Mukherjee

My all time fav.Whenever I am feeling low I watch this movie.I don\'t know how many times I have watched it. Dharmendra has been my fav actor so maybe I am partial to him but the movie has great performances from Om Prakash and Amitabh also.

Hi Bobby,

I was surfing through various movie portals and found this blog/site of yours. It is indeed a great site. I have been going through your write-ups and I must say though there are instances where my opinion differs with that of yours, your insightful interpretation of movies are good to read. Also it offers inputs that can enhance one\'s movie knowledge for sure :)

However the main reason for this remark is to request you to see the original movie in bengali, if you haven\'t yet.
