Dus Kahaniyan (2007) & its inspirations.

02 Jan, 2008 | Inspired Movies (Alphabetical) / D

The Decrember 2007 release "Dus Kahaniyan" had 10 short stories directed by 6 directors. But some of the stories seem to be having their own inspirational sources.

A. One of the short stories is "RICE PLATE",
Directed By Rohit Roy and featuring Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah.
Rohit Roy makes his directorial debut in this but chooses an inspired theme. In the story Shabana & Nasser have a fight over a Rice Plate which Shabana thinks is hers and then she eats all in front of Nasser. Nasser watches and then also brings coffee for her. Later Shabana finds that her plate was lying on another table and she was just mistaken.

Though Rohit does a fine job in his debut venture but the acute similarities with the short film "The Lunch Date" (1989) are really questionable.

B. Another story is "MATRINOMY"
Directed By Sanjay Gupta and featuring Arbaaz Khan & Madira Bedi
This story is inspired from
1st Episode of SEASON 6 of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" (1962)
Titled : Mrs. Bixby and the Colonel's Coat

C. And the intense crime drama "RISE AND FALL",

seems to be inspired from the Hong Kong movie "Gong Wu" (2004).
