Bobby Deol and Nana Patekar starrer action thriller “EK” is said to be a remake of a super hit Telugu film “Athadu” (2005). But the initial sequence of the movie, where Bobby takes over the identity of another stranger met in a train journey was exactly similar to the one we had seen in “Kati Patang” (1970).

There also after a major train accident, Asha Parekh takes over the identity of another lady met in the train and then visits her in-laws and starts living there with them with a new name. Incidentally, “Kati Patang” was also based on another Original Classic of 1950 called “No Man Of Her Own”.

The other sub-plot of the movie where the main target of a Contract Killer is killed by another shooter at the same time was also quite close to “Assasins” (1995).
