Raj Kapoor, The original showman of Hindi Film Industry, was called so due to his futuristic and insightful vision of cinema. He made and acted in this completely out of the trend movie in 1957, which shows the kind of understanding and passion he had for cinema even in the early years of his career.

A poor man, dressed in torn clothes is in search of water during a night. Looking for some source to quench his thirst he enters a residential building in the late hours and is mistaken as a thief. The difficulties he faces in that single night is the story-plot of this experimental movie from the R.K. Banner. Raj Kapoor is in his full form and completely believable in the role of the poor man. The incidents in his journey towards the search of water are both entertaining and enlightening for a serious viewer. The director also uses music and songs in this unusual plot in a remarkable way. A simple movie made with noble intentions and a must for the appreciators of Art Cinema.
