“Rang De Basanti” was surely a path breaking movie in Indian Cinema which had a new and tough script, directed brilliantly by Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra. Keeping the merits of this widely acclaimed venture intact, here are few movies with a similar theme, which may have been an inspiration for the writers of this trendsetter project.

All My Sons (1948)
In this flick also, a defective deal is done during the World War involving ministers and big businessmen, which in turn leads to a huge disaster costing many innocent lives. The deal comes into limelight again after some years and affects the lives of all the persons related to it.

Jesus de Montreal (1989)
In this project, the actors acting in a play, start taking their respective roles seriously and decide to fight against the evil forces themselves in their real lives.

But despite of all the above references having similar subjects, “Rang De Basanti” will be remembered as a powerful movie which induced new life into the younger generation and forced them to start thinking in a more constructive manner.
