Vijaydashami/Dussehra celebrations remembering an outstanding track and its onscreen execution from the cinematic gem HEY RAM - (Articles on Cinema by Bobby Sing)

Wishing all friends of BTC on the day of Vijaydashsmi (Dussehra), would like to share one of my most favourite musical gem from a bilingual film that has a Dussehra celebration filmed on screen taking you back in time to the late 40s with an exceptionally outstanding composition, rendition and lyrics.

The song and the film HEY RAM (2000) is close to my heart for more than one reason and its also rightly there in the Movies To See Before You Die List not to be missed at any cost.

The magical track has the rare amalgamation of four highly respectable maestros together including the lyricist who is largely known for writing light but extremely likable poetry for Hindi film songs in particular.

Would like all young musical friends to hear this once as a must at a good sound system, especially to get the feel of its brilliant traditional Indian arrangement.
And the song goes as:

"हर कोई समझे प्रेम की भाषा, ज़र्रा ज़र्रा है प्रेम का प्यासा"

Composed by : Illaiyaraja
Sung by : Ajoy Chakraborty
Lyrics in Hindi : Sameer
Directed by : Kamal Haasan

Witness how its beautifully used in the story progression on screen celebrating Dussehra, as it used to be in 1947-48 post independence mostly organised by the Rajwadas and still operational state Kings at the following link:

And do cherish the complete track in a fine quality audio including both Hindi and Tamil lyrics at the link given below:

Heartiest festival wishes for all with
HIS BLESSINGS
